Why gaja

Built for the two people who actually matter.

Built for the two people who actually matter.

Rideshare hasn't worked for riders or drivers in years. We rebuilt it from scratch — with both sides in mind.

Compare offers. Choose yours.

No more take-it-or-leave-it surge prices. Multiple drivers send their offers. You pick the one that works for you. By price, driver, or vehicle.

Drivers keep what they earn.

No 50% platform cut or wage discrimination. The fare you set is the fare you earn.

Hold each other accountable.

Riders rate drivers. Drivers rate riders. Both sides are accountable to each other — not to a faceless algorithm.

Why we built gaja

Real founders. Real reasons.

  • "We don't take a cut of your fare. We don't decide your price. We connect riders and drivers — then we get out of the way. That's the gaja contract."

    -The gaja team

  • "I drove Uber and Lyft for a year. Watching riders pay more while I took home less, it became clear: the system isn't built for us. So we built one that is."

    -Kevin Park

  • "I paid $85 for a ride to Babson. The driver made $40. The platform took 53% just for being the middleman. That's the moment I knew rideshare was broken."

    -Max Karmin

FAQs

Got questions? We have got answers

What is gaja?

gaja is a peer-to-peer rideshare marketplace operated by Haja, LLC. Riders post their trip — pickup, dropoff, time, and any preferences — and independent drivers send their own price offers. Riders compare offers and pick the one that works for them. There's no surge pricing, no platform commission, and no algorithm setting the price.

How is gaja different from Uber or Lyft?

Uber and Lyft set one price for you and take a cut of every fare. gaja does the opposite — drivers set their own prices and keep what they charge. You see multiple offers from different drivers and choose the one you want, by price, vehicle, or driver profile. There's no surge pricing because drivers compete for your trip, not the other way around.

How does pricing work?

When you post a ride, drivers nearby see your trip and send their offers — each one a price they're willing to do the trip for. You compare offers from multiple drivers and accept the one that works best for you. If you want a different price, you can counter-offer the driver directly. The price you accept is the price you pay. No surge multipliers, no hidden fees.

When can I use gaja?

gaja is built for scheduled rides, anywhere from a few hours to a few days in advance. Whether it's a 4 AM airport pickup, a doctor's appointment, or a night out, you can post your ride ahead of time and lock in your driver and price before the day arrives. We don't currently support on-demand rides — gaja is designed for the rides that actually need planning.

Where is gaja available?

gaja is launching in Boston first. We chose Boston because that's where we are, where our drivers are, and where we can build the strongest community first. As we grow, we'll expand to other cities. If you want gaja in your area, sign up to be notified when we launch.
